A bit about yarns

I went to Michaels. 

You may think, it must be a regular thing for me, as a crafter. 

I don’t drive. So going to the craft store is at the mercy of hubby or daughter. 

I really want to make this granny blanket for someone  

I got Soft and Shiny by Loops and Thread in white and grey . Then I needed Teal also for the blanket  Teal was not available from the same brand . So I got Caron Simply Soft 

All are soft acrylic yarn . 

You know, all crocheters love the central pull to start working  Loops and Threads  give a nice central pull. 

Just like that! Easy! 

Caron, not so. 

I tried   But I was unable to find the center. It is tightly wrapped inside. 

What is your experience with  these yarns? 

By the way, this is the blanket I am working on:

Right now, I am trying to change the shop name. Etsy has to help me for that. I made things complicate for myself

 

So nothing is going yo get added to the store soon

Reusable Gift tags

Crochet is a comforting activity for me.

Christmas is coming. Gifts are to be prepared, packed and given.

As part of gift giving, I made a few gift tags.

I madeup a pattern for myself:

I used some green Red heart super saver yarn to make them. 

I used only double crochet and single crochet stitches to make them. 

The fun thing is the recipient can re-use them for the coming years! maybe as tree ornaments or just as decorations or greeting cards...

Another one I made using a pattern from desertblossomcrafts.com/. 

I made several of them  You can find the puff stitch pattern online if you want to make . 

Reusing and recycling are good for the planet. Less carbon footprint for us and future generations. 

I am thinking of coming up with ideas for wrapping Christmas gifts with towels or upcycled items. May be using some reusable bags as gift bags...

Earrings!

It was a long time before, I was interested in making jewelry. So mNy interesting ideas to work on! Too little time.   

Only so much money can be spent on craft supplies

Now, already bought threads. Already have ear hooks  

So why not make thread earrings, right? 

With a flower made with my own pattern, here come earrings!

I can be a bit too old for these big ones, but a photo will be fine  

I made a bunch of them!
